MIA M. SCHMIDT, D.D.S.
Dr. Mia Schmidt joined AOMS in 2026. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and ranking near the top of her class. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society in recognition of her academic excellence and clinical achievements. Prior to dental school, she attended the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in History.
Dr. Schmidt went on to complete her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University, where she received comprehensive training in full-scope oral surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, anesthesia, and complex surgical procedures across multiple hospital systems. During her residency, she gained extensive experience managing both routine and medically complex cases.
Dr. Schmidt is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and maintaining the highest standards of safety. She holds certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS, and remains dedicated to continuing education and staying at the forefront of advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Schmidt enjoys spending time with her husband, Devin, their daughter, and their English Bulldog. She is proud to continue a legacy in dentistry as the daughter of retired orthodontist, Dr. Lamont Jacobs.
